Horner: Vettel beat the 'best'

Christian Horner believes Sebastian Vettel is a "worthy" World Champ because he beat the "best" there is, he beat Fernando Alonso.

With Alonso bringing his F2012 home in second place in Brazil, Vettel needed seventh or better to become F1's youngest ever triple World Champ.

The German went even better, finishing in sixth place to beat Alonso by three points.

And Horner reckons this title, Vettel's third successive success, has shown him to be a worthy World Champion.

"It was such an eventful start and Sebastian Vettel got turned around at the start," the Red Bull team boss told the BBC.

"Then the rain came and the radio stopped working and we couldn't really communicate with him. But he stuck at it and he has driven with such determination this year.

"He thoroughly deserves this World Championship because he has never given up.

"Congratulations to Fernando Alonso too, he has been brilliant this year.

"That is what makes this Championship so worthy because he has been up against the best."
