Button: Go out and have some fun

Jenson Button had no complaints with his qualifying performance despite falling short of team-mate Lewis Hamilton in Brazil.

With McLaren looking to be the team to beat ahead of the Saturday afternoon session having topped all three practices, Hamilton and Button fought amongst themselves for pole position.

Hamilton was the victor as he posted a 1:12.458 to edge Button by 0.055s.

"It was a pretty good lap," Button said. "Lewis was half a tenth quicker.

"I'm happy to be on the front row as the last couple of races have been tricky in qualifying."

Saturday was the last time Hamilton would take part in a qualifying session as a McLaren as he's off to Mercedes next season, which Button reckons is a "pity".

"It is Lewis's last pole for the team," said the 20089 World Champion. "It is big for us and important we are on the front row together.

"It shows we are strong as a team and it is a pity that will change, but things change."

Looking ahead to Sunday's 71-lap grand prix, the Brit says both McLaren drivers will be chasing the victory irrespective of the Championship fight between Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso.

"Lewis and I will have some fun because there are two people with more pressure than us.

"We both want to win, that is the way it is. We are not fighting for the Championship so we will fight for the win. It is the best qualifying we have had here so I am looking forward to it."
