Force India announce launch date

Force India will launch their 2013 challenger at Silverstone on February 1 next year.

Vijay Mallya's squad is the first of the 11 teams on the grid to announce the launch date for its new contender, the VJM06.

The launch comes only a few days before the first pre-season test takes place at Spain's Jerez circuit from February 5.

"So we've pencilled in Friday 1st of February for the presentation of our 2013 car in the UK," they confirmed on Twitter. "That's the week before testing begins in Spain."

Force India, who finished seventh in the Constructors' Championship with a couple of P4s their best results, are one of only two teams - the other being Caterham - yet to confirm their driver line-up for the new season.

Nico Hulkenberg's decision to join Sauber has left the team with at least one open race seat as Paul di Resta is expected to be retained for a third season.

Former Force India driver Adrian Sutil, reserve driver Jules Bianchi and former Toro Rosso duo Sebastian Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari are all in the running.
