The Nurburgring will host this year's German GP after agreeing a deal with Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone.
The race's position on the 2013 calendar had been in jeopardy due to financial reasons as circuit owners Nurburgring GmbH had run into trouble over leasing fees with track operator NAG.
However, after weeks of negotiation and speculation, Ecclestone announced on Thursday that a deal had been concluded.
"I treasure the Nurburgring and its history," said the 82-year-old.
"In view of its long tradition, I was glad to support choosing the Nurburgring as the venue for the Formula One."
The German GP will take place on 7 July.
