Alonso back in action as testing returns

Fernando Alonso will make his 2013 track debut in the F138 on the first day of the second pre-season test in Barcelona.

With Ferrari opting to hand the driving duties for the Jerez test to Felipe Massa and Pedro de la Rosa a fortnight ago, Alonso will make his return to the cockpit at the Circuit de Catalunya on Tuesday morning.

Alonso will be behind the wheel of the new Ferrari on the first first three days with his Brazilian team-mate Massa taking over on Friday.

Other drivers who will be in action on the opening day in Barcelona are defending champion Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull, Sergio Perez for McLaren, Nico Rosberg at Mercedes and Kimi Raikkonen for Lotus.

All 10 teams will run their 2013 challengers at the Circuit de Catalunya with Williams the final team to launch their new car just moments before the test kicks off.
