Ricciardo living 'for the moment'

Ricciardo living 'for the moment'

Daniel Ricciardo insists he is concentrating only on the Brazilian GP and will sort his future out after the race.

The HRT driver could be without a drive for next year's Championship as his team recently signed Pedro de la Rosa while Tonio Liuzzi reportedly has a deal in place for 2012.

However, Ricciardo is backed up Red Bull, which could pave the way for the Australian to head over to Toro Rosso. That backing, though, is believed to expire at the end of this season.

But, for now at least, Ricciardo is not letting talk of his future get to him, saying he's just concentrating on Brazil and the rest will work out in time.

"Not much (to say)," he said during Thursday's FIA press conference in Brazil.

"Like a few of us, we are not sure what is happening next year. I will live for the moment now and try and do the best I can this weekend and see what comes from there.

"We'll see what opens up next year. It's not really something I am prioritising at the moment. My mind is still on this weekend."

Ricciardo, though, does believe that he's made a case for keeping him in Formula One as, despite only making his F1 debut at the British GP, he has outperformed Liuzzi on several occasions.

"It has been not bad. Obviously it took a while to get the big wheel going, but I think I gained some momentum and had some pretty good races since then and also good qualifying.

"Coming in half season is not easiest thing to do. There are always going to be things you are not 100 per cent happy about or things you think you could do better.

"I know the potential is there, I just have to put it together more often. I am pretty happy especially if I am to finish this weekend on a good note. I'm satisfied with the last 10/11 races."
