Chilton: Glock departure a blow

Max Chilton concedes Marussia could have a "hard time" this season after Timo Glock was replaced with a rookie driver.

Last month Marussia parted ways with the experienced Glock, citing financial reasons as the cause.

"The ongoing challenges facing the industry mean that we have had to take steps to secure our long-term future," said team boss John Booth. "Tough economic conditions prevail and the commercial landscape is difficult for everyone, Formula 1 teams included."

Glock's seat was sold to Brazilian driver Luiz Razia meaning Marussia now have two debutants for this season.

"It is not ideal, and we will sometimes have a hard time," Chilton told the Telegraph.

"I had been looking forward to being Timo's team-mate because he is very experienced."

The Brit, though, is confident himself and his new team-mate can rise to the challenge.

"I'm sure we will have no problems as we wouldn't be in F1 if we weren't capable," he added.
