Webber: Each race as it comes

Mark Webber will deal with the Championship situation "later on in the season" as for now he is taking it one race at a time.

A disappointing performance in Hungary, partly due to a strategy error, saw the Australian bring his Red Bull racer home in eighth place.

As such he lost a bit of ground to Fernando Alonso, who was fifth and now holds an 40-point advantage over Webber.

But with 225 points still to play for, there is a plenty of time for Webber, who is chasing his first-ever World title, to recover.

"We left a bit on the table," Webber told AAP.

"I'm lying second in the Championship, which is okay, but Fernando is still putting some good finishes together and he's got a good little lead.

"We'll just continue to take each race as it comes and deal with the Championship situation later on in the season."

The 35-year-old is now looking forward to Formula One's summer holiday after which he's hoping to secure his maiden Belgian GP victory.

"The next three weeks are a chance for everyone in the team to recharge their batteries and spend some time with family and friends," he added.

"We'll then head to the last nine races and get as many points as we can.

"I love Spa-Francorchamps. It's one of my favourite racetracks and I'd absolutely love to win there for the first time."
