They have only been team-mates for a few weeks, but Sergio Perez feels he is already benefitting from having an experienced driver like Jenson Button alongside him.

The 23-year-old Perez is teaming up with the 2009 World Champion at Woking this season after swapping Sauber for McLaren. While the 2013 campaign will be the Mexican's third year in Formula One, this season will mark Button's 13th on the grid.

Perez admits he has picked up several things from his new team-mate in recent weeks.

"I'm very lucky driver to have a champion next to me as well as such a good guy," he is quoted as saying by ESPNF1.

"We are working so well together and I've been learning so much from him in my short [McLaren] career. Definitely the pressure is there, the team expects a lot from me and I expect the same; I want to go out there and win the Championship and fight everybody.

"I will work together with Jenson to learn a lot from him and I think we are doing very well."

Perez got his first taste of the new McLaren MP4-28 during the pre-season test at Jerez last week and he admits he still has several things he need to adapt to at his new team.

"The procedures are very different and the way the car works," he added. "It's basically like learning how to set up a car with different tools.

"This is quite difficult because every team has different strategies on the steering wheel and not everyone speaks the same on the radio. That is something new for me but that is very good as well."
