Jenson Button believes Lewis Hamilton will be determined to regain the Drivers' Championship lead at the Canadian Grand Prix after the Mercedes driver was outpaced by team-mate Nico Rosberg in Monaco last week.
Button added Hamilton's past experiences of being challenged by a team-mate will ultimately prove the difference between him and Rosberg in the title race.
"This has really helped Nico's championship, breaking Lewis's run of wins," Button told Autosport after the Monaco GP.
"Is Lewis strong enough to come back? I really do think he is.
"You will see a more determined Lewis at the next race. It is a circuit he loves.
"I remember with Lewis when we had a tussle in a race, or there was an issue between us or with the team and Lewis, he would have a really bad race and be quite outspoken and emotional about it.
"But then the next race he would destroy me. He would come back stronger than ever.
"So the mind games people play on him will not work."
Button recalled instances when Hamilton would get too emotional during their time together as McLaren team-mates, but added that the 2008 Drivers' Championship winner was always able to put any disappointment behind him quickly.
"He is quite an emotional character and he will be quite hurt, but he will come back stronger than ever," he said.
"In Spa, we had the issue of running different downforce levels and he did not like that, which hurt him that weekend, but he came back and won the next race.
"He is very good at turning it around and coming back because he is a superb driver, very fast and he can wrestle a car around a circuit.
"He won't have any issues going into the next race with Nico."
