Lewis: JB's win a confidence boost

Although he failed to make it through the first corner at Spa, Lewis Hamilton says he'll take some encouragement from his team-mate's victory.

While Hamilton's Belgian GP ended at the very first corner when he was taken out by Romain Grosjean, Jenson Button went on to claim his second victory of the season.

Their contrasting fortunes meant Hamilton dropped to fifth in the Drivers' Championship, 47 points behind Fernando Alonso who was also taken out, while Button climbed to sixth, a further 16 points off the pace.

But rather than become despondent after a dismal Sunday afternoon, Hamilton says he'll draw strength from Button's win as it showed McLaren's speed.

"When you have all the preparation and you don't even get past the first corner it's very difficult to take," the 27-year-old said.

"It was a difficult one for us. I didn't even break a sweat, I didn't get very far, but that's life.

"But huge congratulations to Jenson. A walk in the park for him. It was a fantastic effort, faultless.

"It's great for him, great for the team, and it shows we have a great car with pace. I have to pull that out of my car for the next race.

"But it gives me confidence knowing we have that pace and if we get it right on our side of the garage then we should be able to get good results.

"So I'm looking forward to that, and it'd be nice to have a one-two at some stage."
