'Fisichella in the frame for Sauber drive'

Giancarlo Fisichella could take on a dual role this season, testing for Ferrari and racing for the Sauber team.

Having swapped to Ferrari in time for the 2009 Italian GP, the Scuderia confirmed that Fisichella would take up the role of test driver for the 2010 Championship.

However, at the time the Italian said that he would still like to race, especially given the ban on in-season testing, a move that Ferrari stated they would be okay with.

Now, reports in the Swiss newspaper Blick, say the Italian could race for Sauber this season, after Peter Sauber's F1 team signed a deal to use Ferrari engines.

The publication claims Ferrari are in fact putting pressure on Sauber to race the Italian, who reportedly visited the team's Hinwil base last Thursday.

Peter Sauber, though, has made it abundantly clear that any driver decision rests with him - and him alone.

"At the end the decision is mine," he said.
