'Management changes good for Merc'

Nico Rosberg believes Mercedes' recent management reshuffle will prove beneficial in the long run.

Mercedes underwent a big change earlier this year when Toto Wolff was brought on board as Mercedes' new motorsport director. The former Williams man, who had once been linked to Frank Williams' job, replaced Norbert Haug at the German company.

Wolff's arrival sparked rumours that he could ultimately replace Ross Brawn as Mercedes' team boss while other reports linked McLaren's Paddy Lowe to Brawn's job.

In the end it was made clear that Brawn would remain in charge of the pit wall while Rosberg feels the fact there are no changes to the technical staff will help Mercedes.

"This season shouldn't be affected much at all, not initially anyway because the main people in charge of building this car haven't changed," Rosberg told Autosport.

"So there is still a lot of stability in that region."

He added: "Going forward, looking at the big decisions for next year and things like that, there are some big changes coming in.

"And that's where these management changes will have effect, it's more long term.

"That is a good thing, because short term we need stability and long term, to become an even better racing team.

"I think change, to some extent, has been a good thing, and will be a good thing going forward."
