Michael Schumacher has revealed that Mercedes are not getting the same mileage from their Pirelli tyres as many of their rivals achieve.
Last season, Mercedes also failed to get the most out of their Pirelli tyres and it appears as if this is a problem that has continued with this year's W03.
In action at Barcelona on Friday, Schumacher posted his best time of the day at the start of an eight-lap stint. However, according to reports, by the end of the run his times had dropped off by almost four seconds.
"The best is if you have (no degradation)," he told Autosport.
"Everybody has some. I don't know where we are compared to the others, but I have seen some can do better. So, certainly, we can improve."
Schumacher's efforts on Friday where also hampered by stoppages, two of which where caused by the seven-time World Champ.
"It was a bit of a slow start in the morning," he said.
"We stopped twice ourselves, and had other red flag issues, but the afternoon was straightforward. We made most of the work we needed to do, so it's okay."
