Nelson Piquet Jr is refusing to comment on whether his German GP podium has secured him a Renault seat for next season, saying for now he's just concentrating on this year.
Following a disastrous start to the season that yield no points, Piquet Jr's race-seat at Renault was on the line with the Brazilian reportedly given a timeframe in which to prove him or risk being replaced.
He fought back from the rumours to finish seventh in the French GP, however, it was his podium finish two races later in Germany that secured his race-seat at least until the end of the season.
However, whether his P2 has also netted him a drive with Renault for next year remains to be seen.
"At the moment I am concentrating on this season and to get this result is sort of a relief as the beginning of my season was not easy," he told Eurosport when asked if his future was now secure.
"It's a nice reward for the whole team who have always supported me.
"In Formula One you are only as good as your last race and it was important that I got this result - when you look back at the end of the season people don't remember how lucky or unlucky you were - it's the results on paper that matter."
