'Lewis could win it with time to spare'

Monday 28th July 2008

Damon Hill reckons Lewis Hamilton could seal this year's Drivers' title even before the season ends in Brazil in November.

The McLaren driver took control of the standings with an emphatic triumph in Germany, where he was in a class of his own.

It was his second successive victory, having also won the British GP by more than a minute over his nearest rival, lapping everyone up to the third placed man.

As a result Hamilton holds a four-point lead over Felipe Massa and with little sign of the Scuderia making inroads into McLaren's dominance, Hill predicts Championship glory for Hamilton.

"I think he psychologically demolished the opposition at Silverstone," Hill told BBC Radio 5 Live's Sportsweek.

"He is on a roll now as you could see from his performance in Germany. It may be finished before the season is over."
