Glock happy to be back in action

Friday 25th July 2008

Timo Glock was happy to be back in action at Jerez on Thursday following his huge shunt in Sunday's German GP.

The Toyota driver suffered a rear suspension failure at Hockenheim, which sent him crashing into a concrete wall at high speeds, putting him in hospital overnight.

However, thankfully unhurt, Glock was able to return to the cockpit of his TF108 on Thursday when he tested at Jerez, finishing just over a second behind the day's pace-setter.

"It was good to get back in the car and that was a positive day's testing for us," said Glock, who reported no ill-effects from his accident.

"We pushed hard in the morning and we were able to get through most of our plan for the day before lunch.

"That was useful because in the afternoon here it gets too hot and the track is just too slow to get a clear picture out of the car.

"Late on we had a fuel system issue but we had already gathered the data we wanted.

"The main thing is that I've made a full recovery from my accident on Sunday and I feel fine."
