Timo Glock admits he couldn't believe his luck when Felipe Massa's engine blew up a few laps before the chequered flag at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
The German was in P3 and struggling to keep Kimi Raikkonen at bay when Massa's engine packed up on lap 67.
The Ferrari driver's woes allowed Glock to claim second place, the first podium position of his career, with Heikki Kovalainen winning the race and Raikkonen settling for fourth.
Glock admits he was starting to feel the pressure from Raikkonen when Massa's race ended so cruelly.
"This is just unbelievable. I couldn't believe it when I saw Massa's engine blow and I was racing in second position," he said.
"I was under pressure from Raikkonen and I was struggling quite a lot but I had a really good car. It was perfect until the last stint. Unbelievable... in my first year in Formula 1."
