Timo Glock's second place in Sunday's Hungarian GP has all but guaranteed the German a new Toyota deal for the 2009 season, according to John Howett.
Glock, coming back from his huge accident at the previous race in Germany, put in a stunning performance, even holding off the charging Kimi Raikkonen, to finish second on Sunday afternoon.
It was the German's first podium finish and, according to Toyota team chief Howett, will guarantee Glock a new deal with the Cologne outfit.
"As we stand here today, we intend to keep both drivers," he told Autosport. "And I don't think that's ever been in any doubt to be honest.
"Certainly from the moment he drove out of the garage on Friday he has been on it all weekend. If you really look at his sector times from qualifying earlier in the season, he was struggling to put a complete lap together but generally showing he had the speed to do it.
"He proved to himself in Hockenheim, particularly on race pace, how quick he was and the fact he had an issue and he just continued from that point this weekend."
